Booko has two kinds of widgets. Booko Notes rotates your notes on the Home Screen, and Quick Note lets you write something down. Widgets are available on iPhone and iPad.
Add a widget
- Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen.
- Tap + in the top-left corner and search for Booko.
- Choose Booko Notes or Quick Note, pick a size, and tap Add Widget.
Tap the Booko Notes widget to open that note in Booko.
Set the review range and frequency
- Review range decides which notes appear. You can limit it to certain categories or books. The widget and the Review tab share the same range. Change it from the more menu in the top-right corner of the Review tab.
- Review frequency decides how often the widget shows a new note. Change it in Settings. The system decides the exact refresh time, so the widget may update a little later.
With Pro, you can shuffle to a new note directly on the widget.
The Review tab
Open the Review tab in Booko to go through the notes in your review range one at a time.
Write down a thought quickly
None of these need Booko to be open:
- Quick Note widget: tap it and start typing.
- Control Center button: add Booko’s Quick Note button to Control Center.
- Share sheet: select text in another app and share it to Booko.
- Shortcuts: search for Booko in the Shortcuts app and use actions such as Add Note. You can put a shortcut on your Home Screen, run it from an automation, or use it with Siri.
Booko saves quick notes to the Inbox. You can move them to a book or collection later.
On Mac, press C to write a quick note.
Common questions
The widget doesn’t update. The system schedules widget refreshes. Wait a little, or open Booko and do something in the app.
The widget is empty. There are no notes in your review range yet. Import some notes first, or check the review range in the Review tab’s more menu.
